No, it's not a "Greek" name. The writer's surname is, however. Note that the writer is posting on a Dutch university website (j is pronounced as y), so my guess is /ya' ni ko/. Maybe the writer has changed his name to a Dutch pronunciation (the Greek is "Gianni" - also a "y" sound).
