A "drive by" usually refers to a shooting. Someone driving a car shoots their victim as they pass them.
In relationship terms, it would most likely mean a "one night stand."

It depends. It most often is used as a noun. "drive by" a nickname for the action of shooting out of a vehicle while driving by what is being shot at.
However it doesn't have to be a shooting. For example a few weeks ago a car full of teenagers threw firecrackers out their windows at me while driving by(true story). You could call that a "drive by" as well.
It also can be used as verb and preposition. For example, "I will drive by their house, but no one will be there."

I think you can understand its meaning from the context as (that something which you are talking about has came by another thing and you'll mention it after that phrase "drived by".) To clarify my speech I will give an example: The accident was drived by the heavy rain.
I hope I was right and helped you :)

If I "drive by", then I don't stop and I don't exit my car. The phrase is co-located with the word "shooting", but it could be associated with other activities. For example, "we didn't know whether anyone was home, so we did a drive-by".
