"Comfortable" is an adjective:
a : enjoying contentment and security, e.g.
b : feeling physical comfort, e.g. <comfortable shoes>
c : free from stress or tension, e.g.
These tight slacks aren't very comfortable for walking.
Sleeping on my stomach is the most comfortable position for me.
Are you comfortable when you fly in coach class?
The nurse asked him if he was comfortable sitting up in bed.
We stayed at a comfortable distance from the noisy protesters.
He has a comfortable job doing research at the university.
She makes a comfortable living as a court translator.
You may see synonyms for comfortable, e.g. comfy, cozy, cushy, easy, snug, soft.
Be careful -- not all can be plugged into the sentences above as a good replacement. For example, a "comfortable job" might be a "cushy job" and it might be an "easy job", but we would never say a "snug job".
*** However, it must be noted that 舒服 is NOT a match for "comfortable" in all situations. I am thinking specifically of how 舒服 is used by Chinese people in ... shall we say ... a sexual context. Using "comfortable" in that case can actually sound comical ;)
I don't know if 舒服 equates to "comfortable" in all the other samples above.
