"The same" in Thai
I have learned several expressions for "the same" in Thai, including "mĕuan kan" (เหมือนกัน), dieow kan (เดียวกัน) and tâo kan (เท่ากัน). But I don't know when to use each one. In fact, whichever one I use always seems to be the wrong one for the situation. Can anyone explain to me, in English, how to use each of these words/expressions? Thanks.

beside what you had mentioned, there are some more เช่นกัน   แบบเดียวกัน  ด้วยกัน  ด้วยเหมือนกัน   พอๆกัน..........................ฯลฯ so on

เหมือนกัน 
ฉันชอบประเทศไทยเหมือนกัน
เดียวกัน
ฉันชอบอันเดียวกันกับคุณ
เท่ากัน
ฉันชอบทั้งสองเท่าๆกัน

1) เหมือนกัน = alike; identical; same as; same; also; as well; too; likewise
- ความหมายเหมือนกัน = synonymous
- เหมือนกันราวกับแกะ = [two objects or persons] to look exactly identical
- ผมก็ไม่ทราบเหมือนกัน	= I really don't know either.
- หวังว่าเหมือนกัน = I hope so too.
- ไม่เหมือนกัน = different; not the same as
- ผมก็ไม่ทราบเหมือนกัน = I really don't know either.
- ผมเคยเจอแบบนี้มาก่อนเหมือนกัน= I've been through this before, too.

2) เดียวกัน = same
- อันเดียวกัน = the same one, the same thing
- ขณะเดียวกัน	= at the same time; then; in the meantime; meanwhile; at once
- ทำนองเดียวกัน = 	in the same way
- ในเวลาเดียวกัน = meanwhile; at the same time; all the while

3) เท่ากัน = same; equal; equivalent

เหมือนกัน = seem like 
เดียวกัน = same one
เท่ากัน = equal to
