Could you say "meaningful pursuits" in a different way? You think of women as disposable pleasures rather than meaningful pursuits.

I think in the context you state, the woman meant meant to ask Bond if he was capable of having a deep relation with a woman, whether he just considered them as momentary pleasures. In general terms, a meaningful pursuit would be something that would be considered to have (either by yourself or by society at large) any lasting value beyond simply short term enjoyment or pleasure.

meaningful pursuit means worthy of pursuit, something to value so much that you would pursue her, with persistence. That is my take on it anyway. I do not think there is an exact replacement for this saying.

This isn't my idea.It was said to James Bond. I don't quite understand what "meaningful pursuits" means in this sentence? I suppose, the woman who said it meant that Bond didn't take women seriously, but I 'd like to know the exact meaning of this phrase.

It would depend on what idea you are trying to convey by "meaningful pursuits."
