-¿En dónde está el pescado?(where is the fish?)= here you are asking at what place the fish is... -¿A dónde va el pescado?(Where do the fish go?)= here you are asking to what place the fish goes... *Note the verbe to be of English has two dfferent meaning in Spanish: Ser and Estar... "Ser" is used to express ideas like: Who you are-What it is-How you are... and "Estar" to express: Where you are-How you feel. However, it's a little bit more complicated to understand...
