What does "bark" mean? "Mr. Langdon? I need to speak with you." The man's English was accented—a sharp, authoritative bark. "My name is Lieutenant Jerome Collet. Direction Centrale Police Judiciaire." What does "bark" mean? I know when a dog barks, it makes a loud noise. In this case, the word bark mean his accent are heard loudly. Is it right?

"bark" is not a reference to the accent here, it is a reference to the loudness and quickness/sharpness of his voice, similar to a dog bark.

Yes, it means his voice was loud and booming, like a dog's bark. :)
