I'm not American, but they have all gone to bed! < and > = Angle brackets / and \ = Slash and Backslash ( and ) = parentheses ( or just brackets) ' = quote, or quote mark " = double quote { and } = braces or curly brackets * = asterisk, or star # = number sign, or pound ( or out of the US, it's a hash)
