Ok, I'm going to tell you the best ways to learn Japanese. I'm not quite sure if these will work for you, though.
I'm Japanese and the followings are what I've been doing to improve my English.
The first thing you should do is fully understand grammar, I know this is very hard but is inevitable.
Secondly, it may sound ridiculous to most people, though, you should memorize so many Japanese example sentences that can be applied to what you would want to say. The most important thing here is not memorizing but familiarizing yourself with a lot of expressions that native speakers would typically use.
I think the best way to improve your Japanese is to read out loud as many Japanese materials you're interested in as you can every single day. As you know,Japanese is such a complicated language with so many exceptions to its rules.
Basically, it all depends on the effort you put into it!
You can also improve your speaking skills by watching something like YouTube videos where native speakers are talking about something and mimic them.
You should have fun talking with native speakers!

Let start off by saying there is no one right way to learn Japanese. You pretty much have to a lot of motivation and patience, because at the beginner level you have to learn a lot material. And starting is the most difficult for most people and is where people give up or stop learning.
Best of Luck,
Kamin
