Does "set" mean "certain" in this sentence? I don't know if I'm understanding the following sentence. Is "set" another word for "certain"? Or does it mean I have to pay the same fixed amount each month? "Regular-savings accounts require you to pay in a set amount of money each month, typically ranging between about £25 and £250."

Hi there ^^ In this instance, the word "set" means a certain specific amount. So say you got a savings account, and they said you have to pay £25, that is the amount that you are required to pay each month, and that doesn't change. So it is set :) I hope i helped, have a nice day!!
