difference between change in and change of Hi there, Here are two sentences below, could you pls tell me the why should I use 'in' rather than 'of' after the change? and why it uses 'on' but not 'about'. any difference? thank you. The sentence in my textbook is.. The table compares and contrasts data on the changes in the amount of income per quarter. For me, I would write.. The table compares and contrasts data ABOUT the changes OF the amount of income per quarter.

To be honest I just know the first one sounds right to me but the second one doesn't. Sadly I haven't got a clue why! I hope someone else can tell you. I'm not sure there is always a rule.
