1) Wǒ dao shi xī wàng wǒ zài zhōng gūo zhù guo。(I wish I lived in China.) 2)Nǐ quan wǒ chī fàn ma?(You persuade me to eat?) 3)Wǒ de bàn gōng shì yǒu geng duō de rén。(My office has more people.) 4)Zhè shì wǒ de ér zi .(This is my son.) 5)Tāmen mài kāfēi .(They sell coffee.) 6)Tāmen xiàn zài zài gēn tāmen de péngyou yí qǐ mài kāfēi。(Now they are selling coffee with their friend.) By the way, is it ok to say "My office has more people" in English? I thought you would say"There are more people in my office.". Is it a mistake in logic?

Our Chinese friends need to understand that the first sentence "I wish I lived in China" is a wish for the present, not the past. It means that present circumstances are not what you wish and are unlikely to change; hence the use of "lived" to denote the unlikelihood. So it is wrong to use "住过" (zhu4 guo) - had lived. Another example using this grammatical pattern: I wish I was a billionaire - 目前遥不可及。 The correct Chinese version is: "要是我(现在)住在中国就好了!" (yao4 shi4 wo3 xian4 zai4 zhu4 zai4 zhong1 guo1 jiu4 hao3 le". Kayleigh, you had better learn to use Chinese characters. With modern typing software, this should not be difficult. No respectable school or teacher worth his name would teach Chinese without teaching the characters. Ultimately no one in the real world is interested in communicating with someone who can only write in pinyin. Here people are just indulging and pampering you out of the kindness of their hearts for a few minutes. 长贫难顾!

Hunter you are absolutely right on both points. In 2 in particular, neither the Chinese nor the English makes sense in real life.
