Is it correct to use も without having a topic in front?
I'm wanting to say "I also like cats."
私も猫が好きだ。
It is correct if I dropped 私 and just said/wrote
も猫が好きだ。

It is wrong "も猫が好きだ".
You can not use "も" as a stand-alone unit.
You can use "私も". It means "me too".
