The auxiliary verb "do" cannot be used in Arabic to form a question

It doesn't have an equivalent in Arabic. The Arabic sentence's structure is diff. from that of the English. Do is a helping verb and we don't need that in Arabic.

for example:how to say in Arabic (what do they want?)and explain that please.
the answer will be like this:ماذا أرادوا؟ or ماذا أراد هم؟
ماذا=what
اراد=want
هم=(pronoun for group of male)they
أرادوا=أراد همwith conjugation
هم أرادوا the real version of conjugation
I hope that will help and you're welcome
btw we don't use ماذا اراد هم؟ at all only when we want the person to understand so don't use it

Do they help . the question is about if the verb " help " is it done or not , here you can use
هل ساعدوا ؟ or أساعدوا ؟
Where do they go . the question is not about the verb . they go for sure the question is where . so you don't translate "do"
أين ذهبوا
How many hours do they study . same is here you don't ask about the verb study you want to know the hours , so you don't translate " do "
كم ساعة درسوا ?
What do they refuse . same here it is not about the verb "refuse" itself . don't translate "do "
ماذا رفضوا ؟
when do they play . don't translate " do "
متى لعبوا ؟
hope this help
