"with regard to" or "with regards to"
I've learnt a model essay online and one of the sentences in it is: "With regards to individuals, the impact that online social media has had on each individual person has clear advantages." I wonder if "with regards to " should be "with regard to".
Thanks in advance for your answering.

Yes, it should be "with regard to individuals". It is incorrect to use "regards" in this context. This is a common mistake amongst native speakers.
The only time it is correct to say '"regards to" is when you say 'Give my regards to your mother", meaning 'best wishes'.

Originally "regard" is the correct word in this context, however, in modern day English both are frequently used, and most speakers can't tell the difference.
