To me, "tasty" is an informal and more casual way to say "delicious", but they both refer to how good the food tastes. I hope that helps. :)

We refer to something as "delicious" when it is highly pleasing, especially to the sense of taste or smell. We can also use the word to refer to something pleasing in a general sense. Example: There is a delicious aroma of coffee from the cafe. / It was a delicious evening with a performance by the symphonic band. / Albert Einstein once stated, "I live in that solitude which is painful in youth, but delicious in the years of maturity." Tasty is an informal way of expressing satisfaction with food. Almost like saying something is good. Delicious is more formal, but it also signifies a greater enjoyment of food. If something was rather good I'd say tasty. If a meal was extremely good I would use delicious.

tasty = tastes good delicious = tastes very good
