well, there are so many ways to say one thing as you know, but if i were you i would say.. 

"mata tomodati ni narete yokatta.  imamade iiai ni natta koto mo atta kedo, ima wa watasi tachi mou daizyoubu dayo ne :)  honnto ni yokatta!  ituka mata aeruto iine :)  

 something like that :)
