Про Скалли написано, что это связанно с Моби Диком. Типа, их с отцом любимая книга. А там это имя моряка. Он квакер и у них это очень популярное имя среди моряков. Оно связано с островом Starbuck в тихом океане, открытого Валентайном Старбаком. А вот почему его так зовут... Thanks, I confused it with word "bucks" which means "dollar" and it also is translated in russian like "бакс"

star= zvezda; buck: olen. i understand a bit of russian but not able to express myself well in it. yes it's a coffee-bar company. the name starbuck i don't think has a standard meaning or can be translated, but somehow it is composed to give an idea of a powerful thing. buck is slang for dollar and also a horse for breeding. hope you understand and can take out an idea of what the name wants to evoke.
