I would advise against any with lots of gunfire or yelling. I would get Hulu or Netflix. I think the former has a better interface for language learning. Hulu also has more telenovelas which although they are sort of cheesy, the characters do speak more clearly than say in Spanish movies or TV series on Netflix. Avoid American or non-Spanish movies/series dubbed in Spanish because the subtitles will always be different enough to distract you. I haven't watched a telenovela for language learning but I did watch several episodes of vino el amor with my wife. It was crazy but watchable. I also liked La Reina del Sur (Kate de Castillo version) but the last 10-15 episodes or so it deteriorated. I would highly recommend Blue Bloods and Elemental on Hulu. Though made in USA, subtitles are perfect. You get a wide mix of vocabulary and voices. The Spanish is dubbed but it is clear and the characters can speak quickly, but it is clear. On Hulu, they also have all 13 seasons of CSI, Lost, and Full House dubbed in Spanish with perfectly matching subtitles. Damages used to be there too but I don't see it now
