Is there a way to write the "u" sound like in "put" in Greek? Γεια σου everybody, I'm about to start learning Greek and I'm trying to translitterate my surname in the Greek alphabet, I made it correct but for the "u" sound like in "put": there doesn't seem to exist such letter in Greek, right? my surname is Mucciolo, pronounciation like "moo-choh-loh" (first 2 oo like "u" of "put" and with a double C sound we have in italian) ευχαριστώ πολύ

I guess "ου" is what you need for the "u" sound (as described above). For the ch/cci part, I guess some replacement will be needed, let's wait for somebody who is Greek to help you with that.

Of course there is a way, it's "ου", that is the combination of 2 vocals, "ο" and "υ", or, as we call it, a "diphthong".

If you are an opera fan, you will recognise your sounds in the name Τζάκομο Πουτσίνι

Hello, Andrea, your full name in Greek is Ανδρέας Μούτσολο We use the ω as a verb ending every neutral noun or adjective ends in o.
