I agree with Jennie. In modern Chinese 欢喜 is not common any more when it means " to like", but you probably still can find it in ancient Chinese or some dialects. Examples: 1.《水浒》第三十七回 营里管事的人并使唤的军健人等，都送些银两与他们买茶吃；因此，无一个不欢喜宋江。 2. 他欢喜拉小提琴。 欢喜 usually means joy in modern Chinese. But you can always use 喜欢 when you means " to like". I will not worry if I were you :)

The meanings are the same except in grammar usage. The first character serves as a verb and the next one is the noun. It is like "I like you" vs I am fond of you". Same meaning but the grammar structure is different. Most of the time, two character terms can interchange without change in meaning but there are exceptions such as 花生 vs 生花.
