Quand utilise-t-on 'profond' et quand 'approfondi'?

peux-je dire 'une réforme approfondie' ou 'une analyse profonde'?

Dans un premier temps, on peut dire que "profond" fait partie du langage courant. "Approfondi" un peu moins.
"Approfondir", dans son sens figuré, signifie étudier à fond. "Approfondir une science, une question". Donc "approfondi" ne peut pas se dire d'une réforme. Mais une analyse profonde, oui.
