Les Valseuses

Four films adapted from books by Marcel Pagnol: La Gloire de mon Pere Le Château de ma Mere Jean de Florette Manon des Sources The first two are an adaptation from the eponymous books, as well as Le Temps des Secrets (and perhaps a fourth book I don't recall at the moment). These are his remembrances of his childhood shortly after the turn of the 20th century. All of the books are highly engaging reading. The last two are a series, taken from the eponymous books; watch them in that order.
