Punctuation - for learners of English Would you find it rude if I were to tell you to use punctuation?

When I know both parties understand the grammar behind the language, I'll forsake some grammar for the sake of speed. I wouldn't want to confuse a new language learner with poor grammar though.

Punctuation is essential due to the ambiguity and easy confusion of many English words in written language; "polish the Polish table"...etc. (including the classic example of "Let's eat, Grandma" and "Let's eat Grandma") so I think we should emphasise it.

As I am an English teacher, I totally agree with you. Too many of my students think sms language is acceptable in essays.

Please, don't deprive us of possible ambiguities which can be quite funny! People who write without stops and commas are so sure that they'll always be understood correctly. Fortunately, they're wrong =) And it's more convenient to read text without capital letters at all than to read ALL IN CAPS, isn't it? Anyway, everything will remain unchanged because it's unlikely those guys will read this. As for me, i'd like to get a clear explanation of why i should write "I" instead of "i". Thanks.
