An unprepared City
It has been raining all night long.
When I wake up, Sunday morning, it continued raining. The raindrops covered the entire atmosphere with a water veil, very persuasive and unpleasant. I prepared myself as usual to go downtown to buy the newspaper with my new book of Tolkien’s collection, and I found myself feeling estrange for this awful storm.
Not a sound in the street. The big avenue that carries everybody to the next city, called Saldán, was empty.
The stream that runs behind my house was really calm. The Dry Stream, a really great irony, but most of the time the stream is precisely dry. It has water this time, much more than usual but anything to be alarm for.
I wait for the rain to end, but it did not happen. I have eight dogs in my house and they were very anxious. My mother went downstairs and brought them all inside the house.
—Nadia, the basement is underwater!
She told me.
—What?! —I asked very surprised.
We have a room for the dogs downstairs which is just behind the basement and the laundry room. Everything was underwater.
I went back upstairs, and I opened my laptop to inform myself about the storm and internet was gone. In that moment, the rain stop and the sun went out. When I started to hear a really big noise, like a thousand trucks coming into my home.
I run to the third floor and I saw the stream like a big ocean of mud passed right next to my house. The yard disappeared under the water. I have a huge wall that separate the yard from the stream. It’s a wall made of stones, so it resist the pass of the flood.
Many of my neighbors’ walls didn’t resist and the flood went directly into their houses. Was amazing, and thing I’ve only seen in the movies.
My town is completely under the mud right now, many people lost their things, their houses, and their animals. The downtown was the most affected part of the city. The stores were covered in mud, and they lost many of their business.
I saw a lot of families in the roof of their houses. When we hear the first news, they’ve told us that many places in “Sierras Chicas” “The Small Mountains” disappeared. Right now the storm is coming back, and the mud still like a very bad memory of an awful Sunday.

My birthday
Today is my birthday!! A few minuts ago my best friend called me from Buenos Aires and I couldn't take the call, but if I could I surly said things like: thanks, i love you too, yes I'm really happy with my new 32. It's all a lie. I've always hated my nirthdays. I really don't know why, I assume is something with growing up. But the day after my birthday is like the best day of the entire year!. I love the after because i always can enjoy gifts without the suffering and do alone all the things that I really love. Because I hate the candles thing, and I really don't like cakes and I really don't enjoy to be with a lot of people at the same time, unless they be all strangers. (I love parties when I don't know anybody) Because I love to chat with my friends and family but I like to be focused and when there's a lot of people ...I can't. Don't misunderstand me, I love the birthdays, just I love the ones that belong to anothers.

Argentina in love with Curling
For some strange reason, the Olympic Winter Games Sochi 2014 have enamored argentinians. It's not difficult to understand, there is much more snow in Argentina than people use to think that there is. But there is one game we discover thanks to this olympic fever, Curling. A lot of people fall enlove withthis amazing game. We have a game called Bochas, that is very similar, not the same but similar. I think that is the reason because argentinians feel Curling so familiar. Some sport journalists are making a campaing to gather funds to build a place to play it!! I will be there if they can build it, I think is an amazing sport, very strategic and interesting.
Today, a journalist took a kettle and a broom and he tried to explain to the people in street, how play it!! It was really funny!!
Some decades ago only wealthy people could practice winter sports in my country, now that have change, I hope someday argentinian athlets could have the sponsors and money enough to travel to winter competitions and show their skills, because they work a lot!

Comprar flores - Buying flowers
In Córdoba is common watch florists salling a single rose or a carnation, in every restaurant. You can give flowers to someone in any occasion here, even when you don't have a really good reason for do it. The best day to give a flower as a gift is Women's Day on March 8th, is a very important day for every women in Agentina. You can give as a present any kind of flowers and any number of them, but Calas are related to funerals. Anyway, somebody once gave me a Cala and I didn`t think about my death. It's a beautifull flower! But that is what happen in the city.
There is an special behavior about ecology in my country. I am from mountains, and we never, never, never!! give as a present a cutted flower, it is an insult in my region. Please be careful, if you want to give a flower to an argentine, first ask from what part of Argentina your friend is and what he or she thinks about ecology.
