To make my students comfortable we start by asking them what they know and like. I believe that students learn languages faster and remember more when they are emotionally involved as much as they are intellectually. As we converse I identify the themes and topics my students respond actively to and build on top of that information to create an environment where the student feels safe and excited to express themselves genuinely. We must remember the importance of culture and its role in learning to speak English. Think like an English speaker, then speak like it too! I really enjoy Moto’s classes!
