Yoko sensei is a wonderful teacher whom I would recommend to anyone of any level. She is cheerful, very well-organized, and extremely encouraging. Yoko sensei is clearly very experienced, and uses cards/props to prompt you and convey meaning without interrupting the flow of conversation when I am trying to speak. She speaks fluent English so can help me when I get stuck, but does not let the conversation lapse into English, so I am pushed to keep trying in Japanese. Yoko sensei sends summaries of our key vocabulary from the lesson in a clear and helpful format after we have finished. A fantastic teacher who will help you with whatever your goals are in your Japanese learning journey.

My 8-year-old daughter loves Yoko-sensei's lessons! Yoko-sensei provides kid-friendly lessons and tailors them thoughtfully to each child's needs. She is easy to communicate with, and her review documents are incredibly helpful for both my daughter and me. Her class feedback is always detailed and well-written. I highly recommend Yoko-sensei if you're looking for a Japanese teacher for young children!

My son really enjoyed his lesson with Yoko sensei! She made a lot of engaging, personalized slides for the lesson and really focused on having him use as much Nihongo as possible.

Already 6 months studying Japanese with Yoko sensei! One of the best things about the class is that Yoko sensei explains things and converses in Japanese as much as possible. Speaking and listening as much as you can in the target language is tough but will get you to your goal as soon as possible. Can't find a better tutor and class 😃

Yoko-san is an wonderful teacher. I appreciate that she asked me lots of questions in advance of our lesson to assess my Japanese level and determine what we should focus on in our lesson. Our session was filled with vocabulary, grammar, and verbal practice (lots of repetition in a good way). I look forward to having more lessons with her.

I do the 25 min chat with Yoko-san every week. She is an amazing conversation partner - she always has a follow-up question, or keeps the conversation going for the whole session. She’s very patient and uses gentle modeling to correct my mistakes, so I never feel judged if I make a mistake.
