Mai

Mai is an amazing teacher! She always makes sure that I understand the material before moving on. Mai also incorporates several language skills into the lesson (listening, reading, speaking, etc.). All of the material is relevant and useful for everyday life and my life. I highly recommend Mai for beginners and intermediates in Japanese.

Mai sensei is an excellent teacher! I have had a couple tutoring sessions with her and I’ve gotten much more confident in my speaking and listening ability! Others have also commented on my improvement : D. Mai sensei is an experienced teacher so she is easy to talk to and gives me helpful guidance for self study. ありがとう！

Her lessons are really fun, and she helps in English when you don’t understand, so it never feels awkward. Her original materials are also very helpful. After each lesson, she sends lesson notes and materials, so you can review easily.

It was great fun chatting about music with Mai-sensei. Really helpful too, and I loved hearing about her performances. What’s more, she has an excellent knowledge of grammar and gives plenty of explanations in English.

I love Mai-san’s lesson style. I took a grammar lesson with her, and it was a lovely surprise because it was not stiff and textbook-like at all. Instead, she used fun, game-like activities. Of course, the activities were carefully designed so that I had to use grammar naturally in order to keep the game going, so before I knew it, I was getting speaking practice as well. It was great fun! ❤

She is a very friendly and approachable teacher! Even shy students can feel relaxed and comfortable in her lessons.
