Hello, my name is Demi. I come from China. It is a great pleasure to meet you on italki and I am happy to help you learn Chinese. My major in university is Chinese as a foreign language, that means teaching Chinese to foreigners. In addition, I have lived in France and Canada, so I speak fluently both English and French. I used to teach Chinese to international students at Sichuan Normal University. They come from South Korea, France and the United States. After that, I worked as a Chinese teacher in France. The age of the students ranged from 4 to 60 years old. Demi evaluated my son for his Mandarin capabilities. She spoke primarily in Mandarin which my son was uncomfortable with but I think it will expedite his Mandarin lessons and he will be more comfortable as the lessons continue. I’m happy that she insisted he speak in Mandarin and that she’s already starting to teach him how to have conversations.
