Hana Banana

I love Hana!! I enjoy her lessons and learning with her. She reviews her materials very well and I also enjoy the conversation lessons with her. I want to have more lessons with her : )

In my 5th lesson with Hana, I noticed a big improvement in both my ability and willingness to express myself in Japanese, even though speaking is still very difficult for me. Compared to the previous lesson, I felt much more willing to try even though I couldn't always complete my thoughts or didn't always know the perfect words to use. Her encouragement about my growth gave me a lot of motivation. I know I still have a long way to go and need to improve my vocabulary so that I can communicate better, but this lesson made me feel that I am genuinely making progress.

Hana is a very patient and understanding teacher who explains everything clearly and gives plenty of useful examples. She follows a structured plan, but she’s also happy to slow down and go into detail on anything you’re struggling with. She encourages speaking in Japanese as much as possible, which is essential for learning the language. She’s also kind and easy to talk to, so it feels comfortable to speak freely and make mistakes without fear of judgement.

Hana is an exceptional teacher who quickly puts you at ease and is extremely attentive to making the lessons engaging. I learn new vocabulary every time I have a lesson with her. After over 2 years of taking classes with Hana, not only have I improved my Japanese proficiency and gained confidence in speaking, but we have also developed a strong friendship. Now, every lesson feels like catching up with a friend in a Tokyo café. I cannot recommend her teaching enough!

I was very nervous before the lesson, but Hana did a great job of helping me feel relaxed and was very easy to talk to. She clearly explained a structured path for our future lessons and worked with me to create a plan for my studies. She was also proactive in giving me homework so she can better understand my current level and fine-tune our future lesson content. I'm looking forward to studying with her more.
