I'm a British native speaker, and a professional English teacher for 12 years.
I design each class with the student's individual needs in mind.
I am a believer in conversational classes, but ALWAYS with CORRECTION
I provide homework for each class, in the form of articles, which we review and expand in the class.
Outside of teaching I am mostly interested in History, Artificial Intelligence, & future developments in tech.
(Announcement - I use the 'teacher break' option with Italki, meaning each 1 hour class runs for 55 mins in total, each 30 mins class = 27 mins, 45 mins = 42. I apply this only when I have a lesson directly after)

I design each lesson based on the student's needs.
For this, I ask for areas that they hold a specific interest (eg hobbies, academic pursuits, industry etc), then will look for material around this area.
This way we build conversational classes - which ALWAYS have CORRECTION & REVISION of learned terms - around areas that the student has an interest in.
By using this method, the student gets LANGUAGE INPUT, in homework, before the class, & then review during, followed by review in the next class.
Together with conversation-with-correction, this combination produces fast & effective results in language acquisition.

I am a big believer in conversational classes, but these will ALWAYS come with a structure, and a focus on LANGUAGE ACQUISITION, not just a friendly chat!
I ALWAYS give CORRECTION, & keep records of the vocabulary & language that has come up, send these to the student, and begin each class with short (fun!) tests.
This repetition is how the mind learns, and in all my time teaching, this method has proved the fastest and most efficient way for success.
