Joanna is a lovely teacher. She has perfectly adapted the lessons to my level and goals. I have been very nervous to speak Chinese, but in her lessons she is very inviting and makes me more confident to speak Chinese. When I make mistakes, she gracefully corrects them. I am also thankful she follows my request of conducting the lesson fully in Chinese. Thank you!

I've taken quite a few lessons with Johanna Qin, and I always appreciate how the lesson starts off with conversational Chinese and how her teaching style is flexible, allowing me to study and learn texts I'm interested in. In addition, she clearly explains differences between similar grammar points in Chinese and, if necessary, in English. The conversational practice has markedly improved my speaking ability in Chinese. For context I study Chinese at university, and my teachers complemented my increase in conversational fluency, which I attribute to taking these lessons. Overall, I enjoy the flexibility with what I study, the clear explanation of grammar points, and the conversational (and listening) practice.
