Mao finds good material for us to practice with and today we watched an animated short film which I had to describe and talk about the story, characters, and universe. He is very flexible and understanding and he gives me a lot of time to think about my phrases and corrects me immediately if he sees something that needs correcting. I really appreciate his attention to detail and his professionalism.

I'm currently preparing for my TCF exam with Mao, and honestly, his support has made such a difference. Preparing for this exam can be stressful, and Mao has helped me identify my weaknesses, build confidence, and stay motivated. His classes are always positive and encouraging. He's patient, friendly, organized, and has a clear plan to help his students improve. I've been studying French for over a year and have tried different tutors, and I can honestly say Mao is one of the best teachers I've had. I don't usually leave reviews, but I really wanted to recommend his classes. I'm so glad I found him!

Mao gives a lot of information on grammar and is eager to help his students. He understands things take time and he is quick to give lots of examples for his students to get a better grasp of concepts. He is really understanding and flexible which I really appreciate when things get hectic on my end.

As a teacher myself, it is nice to be able to talk about work and when I hear Mao's perspective, I really see Mao as a wonderful teacher who cares about his students. He encouraging and can adjust the challenge for students when he sees potential for growth. I always really appreciate him being flexible with me. Each lesson, we have a good mix of free talk and material reviewing. Today we worked through song lyrics of a famous French song. It’s challenging but really rewarding to be able to understand the nuances of poetry in my target language. Mao is creative and tries to make lessons engaging for students by making material that matches what they like and their level.

Mao is a very honest and understanding teacher. He always tries his best to help his students and makes lessons based on their needs, abilities, and personalities. He is always on time and organized which makes lessons flow really easily. As a beginner, he gives me opportunities to speak and is quick to help correct me when I cannot find the right word or phrase. He is very kind in his approach and is very encouraging. We have always have interesting conversations and we are working through my beginner level French together little by little. He gives me homework to practice on my weak points, puts vocabulary into a Google docs notebook for me, and shares lesson materials for reviewing. He is extremely patient and understanding. I really appreciate how he gently corrects me when I make mistakes in the moment.
