Hello! I'm Xavier, I am quite a foody: I love eating, cooking and wine tasting. I also like nature: hiking, dogs, biking, making videos on Youtube ("Xavier Frenchforall") and kayaking. I am a huge fan of audiobooks. I used to be a sommelier so I am quite knowledgeable about wine.
Bonjour! Je m’appelle Xavier. Mes deux plus grandes passions sont la gastronomie et la nature. J’aime faire la cuisine, les dégustations de vin et bien sûr manger. J’aime également promener mes chiens, faire du vélo, faire des vidéos Youtube ("Xavier Frenchforall") et du kayak. Je suis aussi un grand fan de livres audio. J'ai travaillé comme sommelier donc je maîtrise ce domaine.

I am a native French teacher and I have been teaching French for 8 years in various schools to students across all age ranges. I have a masters degree in translation with a minor in French teaching and I can speak English and Chinese.

My lessons are highly efficient: you get a small vocabulary / grammar video you watch before the class and we do oral practice during the class. This method saves about 25% of class time.

Amazing! Having had classes with Xavier for exactly a year, I have to say it was a fully immersive experience in French language culture. I went from a beginner to being able to have a friendly chat with a French guy I met at a restaurant in this short time. This progress would be impossible without Xavier challenging learners from all levels to speak only French at every lesson. He would discuss with you for half an hour on a current subject about France or the news and allow you to deepen your skills quickly by discussing difficult topics. Xavier的课堂非常有趣，并且他的教学观点对我来说是比较新颖的：课堂上的宝贵时间就留给口语，可以提前构想口语内容与纲要，但是不能写下来照着读。这对于每一个进入瓶颈期的语言学习者都应该是非常有效的提升方法，老师也很幽默会懂一些中文梗，推荐！

Xavier is the 4th French teacher I have through italki and by far the best one! There are so many teachers on this platform and it is really a combination of luck and perseverance to find one that suits a person's needs.
He is always professional, reliable and has tons of resources in the field that I have the most interest in. He never speaks English to me and always patiently explains expressions, idioms and grammar to me in French. It's really always a joy to take a class with him!
