Johann

I have just completed 7 months of French classes with Johann. He is an excellent teacher with a very systematic approach, well researched material and quick responses in our off the class communication. The classes are a good combination of listening comprehension, speaking, learning new words and pronunciation and of course- grammar. We always go over the homework and I appreciate short written assignments and his insights, too. French is a complicated language but I feel like my understanding, vocabulary and listening comprehension truly increased in the past months. I highly recommend Johann as a professional teacher to anybody who wants to bring their French to the next level.

Johann is truly a one-of-a-kind teacher. Patient, kind, enthusiastic and empathetic; he is someone who tailors every lesson to your needs and is most encouraging. Learning a foreign language can at first seem like you are stepping into a dark forest, but with Johann’s thoughtful guidance, it feels more like a pleasant walk in the park. His lessons are always efficacious and delightful. Merci Johann, tu es extraordinaire! :)

I always leave a lesson with Johann feeling good about my progress and encouraged to keep working hard. Each lesson is well structured, the resources used are excellent, and he has a great sense of humour. I was nervous when starting to learn French as it's very easy to feel self-concious and silly when you don't know what you're doing. Johann always makes the process light-hearted enough that you have a lot of fun, but at the same time offers the depth required to really make excellent progress. His English is outstanding, probably even better than my own. This allows him to give good contextual comparisons for what the meanings of words and sentences translate to in English. It's not easy to decide which teacher may be right for you when first starting your journey on iTalki, but I strongly suggest using one of your trials on Johann. I really cannot recommend him enough.

Johann has been an excellent French tutor for my son, Max. From the very first lesson, Max felt comfortable and at ease, which has made such a difference in his confidence. Johann has a very calm and supportive teaching style. He gently corrects mistakes without interrupting the flow of conversation, which helps Max learn without feeling pressured or stressed. This approach has really encouraged him to speak more and take risks in French. Max genuinely enjoys his lessons and looks forward to them each week. I’ve already seen improvement in both his confidence and his ability to express himself. Highly recommend Johann to anyone looking for a patient, professional, and encouraging French teacher!

Johann has been helping our son with French for a while now, and he does it so well. He is patient and always in a good mood, which makes our son enjoy sitting at the computer every time.
