I am Angela, I've been teaching Italian online for six years and hold a CEDILS certification from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. I earned a Master’s degree in Visual and Media Studies from Roma Tre University and spent several years abroad, an experience that deepened my passion for foreign languages and cultures. My teaching method was born from this journey, grounded in direct experience and active student engagement, aiming to develop practical communication skills that can be immediately applied in everyday life. I actively encourage the building of new skills through experience and involvement in real-life scenarios, appreciating the uniqueness of each student. My method is based on using diversified stimuli to facilitate the developing of fresh, rich and deep mental associations. After each lesson, I'll send a review to recap what we covered, with emerged key words that will be revisited in future lessons. I integrate grammar into real-life language situations, by immersing students in the language and providing them with many opportunities to use it in a more natural and intuitive way. While spontaneous conversation is a key component of language learning, it's not enough on its own. Mi sono laureata in Lingue e Civiltà dell’Asia presso l’Università Ca’ Foscari di Venezia, e lavoro come insegnante di lingua italiana da 5 anni. Ho maturato esperienza non solo nell’insegnamento per adulti, ma anche a bambini e ragazzi (3-12 anni), sia in scuole di lingua che scuole internazionali (IB). Ho studiato molte lingue oltre a quelle che posso parlare fluentemente (inglese e giapponese), quindi capisco bene cosa significhi mettersi in gioco con l’apprendimento! So che molti, pur provando entusiasmo, curiosità e gioia nell’apprendimento di una nuova lingua possano sentirsi limitati da ansia, vergogna e paura del giudizio quando si tratta di parlare con madrelingua. Per questo, è importante per me stabilire un’atmosfera rilassata in cui le mie studentesse e studenti si sentano liberi di esprimersi, parlando di una grande varietà di argomenti. E fidatevi, non importa quanto il vostro livello sia elementare: rimango sempre stupita nel vedere di quante tematiche complesse riusciate a parlare, quando si trova la motivazione per farlo! Per me è importante fin da subito lavorare su materiali autentici, che possano stimolare il vostro interesse e la vostra passione per la lingua - non un monolite fatto di grammatica e vocabolario da imparare, ma uno strumento da usare con persone, amici, colleghi, quando si lavora, viaggia, vive. Learned 5 languages as an adult. From zero or improving, my lessons are built around your goals What learning so many languages has taught me is that grammar alone doesn't get you very far. You acquire a language when you start using it, even imperfectly. My role is to create the conditions for that to happen as soon as possible. I'm demanding enough to help you make progress, but never in a way that puts you under pressure. I correct with judgement, focusing on what genuinely gets in the way of communication and leaving room for spontaneous expression. I've worked with students at very different levels and I adapt my pace and register to whoever is in front of me. Most students go from A1 to B2 within a year to a year and a half with one hour of practice per week.

LESSON POLICY: As long as students inform me that they cannot attend the lesson (even if 5mins before) I'll always refund them. If you do not notify your absence I am sorry but I will not refund you.
