Intermediate & Advanced Japanese: Speak More Naturally and Confidently I have been teaching Japanese professionally since 2020. I completed the Japanese language education course online. I specialise in 1:1 lessons and I have significant experience teaching intermediate students. I will work with pre-intermediate students who only speak everyday conversation and develop their range so that they can speak on different topics such as social problems, science and art. My lessons will be fun and relaxing and also focus on your progress. I believe in students studying proactively, not me telling students what to do. I am a facilitator rather than an instructor and I guide you in my lessons while you work it out for yourself.

I can assist absolute beginner to highly advanced level students (including N5-N1 preparation), who are willing to manage aspects of their own learning. Thanks to many of my students, I have been become one of the most experienced Japanese teachers at italki. I use PPT and Word documents to explain grammar points, etc. in English. My native language is Japanese, but I am trained and qualified to teach in Australia and I feel more comfortable explaining Japanese in English. This approach can be especially helpful for English-speaking students. For advanced learners, I may use little to no English.

I have had the opportunity to talk with people from many different countries, and each time I have taught them a little about Japanese culture and the language, I have a desire to explain my country to people from more countries. The most important thing when I learned a foreign language was to increase the opportunities to use that language. No matter how much you study, if you don't use it often, you'll spend a lot of time learning it. For the above reasons, I decided that it is important to focus on conversation-centered free-talk in my lessons, first of all, to create many opportunities for you to talk about topics you like, so that you can get used to speaking.
