I started as a volunteer and now work at a Japanese language school. Many of my students want to go on to university or vocational school in Japan, or pass the JLPT. So I specialize in supporting students with exam preparation and school applications. For example, I carefully help with writing corrections, interview practice, advice on personal statements, and how to study for the JLPT, tailored to each student’s needs.

To learn a new language should be a lot of fun, a source of joy and good time, however many people try and get frustrated. We all can learn as many languages as we want, but we should learn in natural way, like any child learns his mother tongue. As adults we frequently try to learn a new language in ways that are just not conductive. Dry repetition and memorization don’t help. A language is much more than words, a new language is like a new life. Japanese is a fascinating language of a fascinating country. I love to teach Japanese and about our food, our order and good manners, the anime and manga and many other fantastic oddities that exist only in Japan.
