Teacher with experience in Linguistic studies I do not see myself as a teacher, but as a coach. I fully adapt to the learner's level and interests. I hold two degrees in foreign languages and literature from “La Sorbonne” in Paris, where I studied Dutch and English. My academic background is rich in linguistics, grammar, phonetics, translation, literature, and cultural studies, providing me with a solid foundation in both languages and their respective cultures. For the past three years, I have been teaching Dutch and English to students of all ages. My approach is always tailored to the individual needs of each student. I begin every course with a needs assessment, so I can understand their learning goals and preferences. This helps me design personalized lessons, whether the student needs more structure or a more relaxed style.

When a class is scheduled, it is part of my weekly plan and I get ready for it. I conduct a detailed journal of what I have been doing with my student, I write down every session, thus it is easy for me to check what we did on our past sessions. I used to teach more conventionally, meaning with my students being in the same room as me. In 2021 I started using Skype for my classes and things work out very well. I am always punctual as I respect the time my students take for our class, likewise I do appreciate if my students do the same.

I won’t give you a step-by-step textbook course — instead, I’ll coach you through real-life communication, at your level and pace. I don’t teach Dutch from scratch, but if you already speak a little, I’ll help you build fluency, confidence, and clarity. Because language is a skill — and you only learn it by using it.

I am constantly learning about languages and cultures myself and therefore I am conscious that as a teacher I need to be as accessible and supportive for students as possible. After all it takes a lot of courage to express yourself in a new language.

I find learning languages quite fun and if you share any of my passions, then we can make the learning process equally fun for both of us. Just like how eyes are the window to the soul; language is the window to the soul of a nation. Through the language you can understand a country's people and through understanding them you get a grasp of their language too. :) I'm very patient and will listen to your needs & adjust myself to your speed and level while learning.

I studied science and technology In the Netherlands and one of my jobs was training new employers to get ready for their job. In Thailand I started to teach at the local primary school of my village. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to get my TEFL certificate and did additional courses for natural learning, specially for kindergarten kids. I have experience teaching at kindergarten, primary school and secondary school.

I have access to many textbooks and materials at different levels, which I will share with you after each lesson.
