I specialize in teaching A1-A2 level adult students, helping them build a solid foundation in Finnish with clear explanations and practical exercises. With over 10 years of experience in specialized Finnish language instruction, I understand the challenges beginners face and how to overcome them. Mistakes are part of the learning journey. I love to challenge my students to take steps beyond what they believe they are capable of. However I don't push you beyond your limits, but I will always help you when I see you are stuck. I also acknowledge our different personalities and will learn the approach you prefer me to have in supporting you, whether it's to give more space or to be more intently present.

I have two University degrees and I have been teaching finnish and swedish both for beginners and business people. I have also worked as a translator. The most challenging mission was in Monaco, where very talented multilingual people wanted to learn swedish and finnish and learn it fast, because they did business with Scandinavian countries.

Having climbed the “mountain of fluency” in two foreign languages, I know exactly how hard and frustrating the journey can be, but I also know how rewarding and satisfying finally making it to the top is. To me, wrapping your head around a completely new way of thinking that often comes with achieving fluency in a language is one of the best feelings I know, and I want to share it with you. As someone with a strong background in science, my specialty is scientific communication and technical writing. I also think my experience in grappling with abstract scientific concepts has taught me to explain grammatical concepts and semantic nuances in a concise and easily understandable way.

As a teacher I am patient and interested in the students' progress. I am passionate about teaching Finnish and wish to make language learning interesting and fun! Finnish language tutor with a passion for teaching I am currently studying to become a certified class teacher (I can teach all subjects in primary school for children aged 7-12) and Russian language teacher for all ages. However, my study program also focuses heavily on helping students with Finnish as a second language. I have taught children, teens and adults in traineeships as part of my studies. However, most of my teaching experience comes from volunteering regularly in Finnish language groups for immigrants since 2020. I have taught both individual students and groups in person and online, and have been teaching Finnish through English, Russian and Ukrainian.
