I have been teaching Italian for five years in Russia (at Derzhavinsky Institute in Saint Petersburg) and have been teaching Russian to individual students since 2017, as well as at university since 2022. I’ve been studying foreign languages for as long as I can remember, so I understand how challenging—but also exciting and rewarding—the process can be. I have experience teaching Italian to absolute beginner, intermediate, and advanced students (all adults). I'm flexible with the way I teach. I communicate with each student to understand what works for them and integrate their preferences with a proven methodology. I like using videos, movies, pictures, and music. I often create online apps for my students, and they all love them because these online exercises look like games. The more fun you have while learning, the better! Depending on your level and how comfortable you feel, I will use English or Japanese during our lessons. I also work as a professional copywriter and copyeditor, and this year I will publish my first novel! :)

As a student of languages myself, I know that speaking the target language with a native speaker since the start is the best way to progress faster; I also know that a relaxed and informal atmosphere is vital to learn effectively, because our brains work much better when not under pressure. I will use Italian as much as possible and, most importantly, I will make YOU use Italian as much as possible, even if you are a beginner. However, sometimes clarity is necessary so we can also use English and French - and I still remember a little bit of Norwegian and Swedish!
