Thanks to all the previous experiences in teaching students with different levels from diverse backgrounds, I am well aware of common mistakes by learners from different countries. "I love helping others learn Spanish in a fun and dynamic way." I have more than 8 years of experience in the teaching field. During my career as a TSU I studied Spanish. This allowed me to have some knowledge in grammar and spelling. But I have benefited much more from some courses and diplomas that I recently took. These helped me to implement in my classes a good technique to teach Spanish in an attractive and effective way. Some of these courses taught me that there are students who need to learn at their own pace and with a different methodology, for example those who have learning disabilities such as dyslexia.

I grew up with 4 mother tongues! I pay attention to every student's individual strengths and needs, in order to adapt the teaching style and rhythm to one that works best. My teaching experience comes from an intuitive and deductive process of learning by doing. I like to bring this into my lessons, making you understand the language as a whole, instead of just memorising words and phrases.

¡Enseñar español me apasiona!. En el año 2020 realicé un diplomado en "Pedagogía y Didáctica para la Enseñanza de Español como Lengua Extranjera" en uno de los institutos más reconocidos de mi país. Durante los años 2013 y 2014 enseñé español a personas de diferentes nacionalidades en la modalidad virtual que tenian un nivel intermedio y avanzado del español. Me interesa generar conversaciones agradables y comprensibles con mis estudiantes en las que hablemos sobre las diversas culturas del mundo, escuchemos música en español y practiquemos cada una de las competencias del idioma.

As mentioned, I believe having a native grasp in both English and Spanish is an advantage. It allows me to easily translate idiomatic concepts and expressions that don’t have literal equivalent from one language to the other. I can draw meaning from my native understanding of both languages (and my experience in using both in daily life) to find the right examples and the closest translations from the source to the target language. I studied linguistics and, even though it is generally not required for a language teacher to be trained in linguistics, there is a growing number of experts in the community who believe it's a huge plus. I've drawn countless knowledge from it to teach.
