Happy Birthday

Hi everyone! It is my daughter's birthday today! She is very happy because she's now ten years old. I didn't buy her anything, then I asked to her, "Do you want go to out and choose something to buy?" "Yes," she said. Then we went to the mall near our home, just ten minutes away. Then we went to a library, where she chose a book by a famous teen girl who is a youtuber in Brazil. I liked her choice. Then I thought, "Oh my God, my baby's growing up. She's not going to play with barbies anymore."

Using the Internet

People use the internet more than ever before. It is now possible to access the internet anywhere, whether at home or on a mobile device. Even though this development can bring good things for our lifes,it also can give us many problems, for many reasons.
First, to argue this issue it is important to show the advantages of this invention. With one touch we can travel arround the world in seconds. In addition to we can increase our knowledge of everything. We can also can playing games, shopping, seeing movies and series. Also is possible talk with another person that is very far from us.
Second, the using of internet can give us many problems. Although we are alone when we use it, we are not safety. Because it is very easy to invade our privacity, like photographs and documents. Moreover has many false information,it can become in a waste of time,you can forget yoyr true life.
Finally the survey demonstrating can not show all the possibilities of using the internet. Despite of numbers, men and women waste time using the internet. The only true is that represents that men use internet more than women.

My Future Job

Today is a local holiday in the city where I live. But I have a job in a city nearby, and I need to go to work today. All my life, I have worked jobs in cities outside of where I lived. There have been many times when my family was enjoying a holiday, but I was out working hard at my job. Maybe one day I will have a job in my own city, where I will have the same benefits that I have in others cities. I have been thinking about my own business. I need to think more about it and save enough money to make sure I can last a few months without a regular wage. It is a hard decision.

What's your level of English?

I guess my level is moderately advanced if you take into account just writing and reading. I still have a hard time with my listening and a pretty heavy accent, which means that I can get by in an informal context, but I have to repeat myself every so often when I speak to natives.

Self Introduction

Well, I joined italki today. I was looking for something that would help me to learn English and a place where I could meet people around the world. I'm Brazilian and I'm learning English all by myself. I decided to go deep in English at the beginning of this year, and here I am. I started reading English, watching videos on youtube, watching series in English with subtitles, writing to practice, and it's been very cool. At the moment I think I've really been able to learn a lot because now I can understand many things in the videos I watch and almost everything I read. I feel happy about it because I see some people around me who want to learn English but don't try or go take a course, which I wouldn't like to. When I started to learn, I believed I was able and I would make it, and here I am, big step so far, I think.
Here where I live I don't know people who speak English or who want to practice, so I think I found the right place.
My biggest desire is going to live in United States, but I don't know how I will make it. It's time for me to think about this, because next year I will be out of school. This year is my last, and I'm 17. I don't have a job so far.

My very first trip abroad

The destination of my very first trip abroad was U.S.A. It was in August 2015, and it only included places in California. My flight landed in the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and from there, I went to a hostel in Santa Monica. It was night when I arrived, so, the first thing I did was sleep. At the break of dawn, I woke up and, after having a very nice breakfast, I went out in order to enjoy the beautiful beaches of Venice and Santa Monica. My hostel was just two blocks away from the remarkable Santa Monica Pier - a really nice pier!
In the following days, I visited many of the famous and interesting places from Los Angeles (that is a city attached to Santa Monica) like Hollywood, Griffith Observatory and some studios where were made some of the most famous movies and series of the world. I have also visited one of the Disney Parks from California: the Disney California Adventure Park. It is a magical place!
After spending six days in Los Angeles and places nearby, I took a plane to San Francisco, where I visited (and crossed by a bike) the most famous bridge of the world: The Golden Gate Bridge. Besides that, I visited some other remarkable places in the city, like Fisherman's Wharf and the Alcatraz Prison, which was probably the most amazing place I saw in all the trip.
So, after 10 days in Calfornia, I said goodbye to U.S.A. Besides being my first trip abroad, it was also my first trip by myself, and although I went there by myself, I wasn't alone for one single day. I met a lot of new friends, Brazilians and foreigners, and these friends I carry with me until today (I even visited one of these friends in Mexico later, but this is another story).
It was an amazing experience and I will surely carry all of those memories in my heart forever and ever.
