This sentence (the original) is rather complex to me , I would like to offer the teachers with English their native language my way to understand it. The original: To that world of assembly of sovereign states, the United Nations , our last best hope in an age where the instruments of the war have far outpaced the instruments of peace, we renew our pledge of support:… My way to understand the original: ① . To that world of assembly of sovereign states, the United Nations , our last best hope, in an age where the instruments of the war have far outpaced the instruments of peace, is still in the United Nations. We renew our pledge of support:… to that world of assembly of sovereign states, the United Nations. ② . We renew our pledge of support:… to that world of assembly of sovereign states, the United Nations ,which (= the United Nations) is our last best hope in an age where the instruments of the war have far outpaced the instruments of peace. Question: Are both of my guesses grammatically correct? and having the same meaning as the original?
