17-year-old Scarlet leaves home to find shelter at her uncle's house. But her uncle seems to be hiding something. Every night he disappears into the forest, and so one day, Scarlet decides to follow him. Along the way, she meets a guy named Ruben, who says he's a spy. Together, they spy on her uncle to see what he's hiding. Is he a murderer like her father says? Can Scarlet and Ruben uncover the truth behind her mysterious uncle?

みんなげんき？
このエピソードでは、スウェーデンの森について話すから、ちゃんと聞きなさいぃぃぃ。
おれはねぇ、2020年の11月に、横浜からスウェーデンに引っ越してきたんだけど、やっぱりスウェーデンに来て１番びっくりしたことのひとつは、「どこまでいっても森しかない」ってことかなぁ。
まぁ、他のエピソードでも話した通り、てっぺいは都会よりは田舎の方が好きだし、森もリラックスできるからだいすきなんだけど、あまりにも森しか無さすぎて、さすがにびっくりしてます。
今住んでる場所はスウェーデン北部の小さな田舎町だからもちろんのだけど、ストックホルムでも少し車で離れただけでもう森しかないのよ！
ちょっとてっぺいはねぇ、スウェーデンに来る前に想像してたよりあまりにも森しかないから今でも少しびっくりしてます。

Are you interested in the Tohoku dialect?　方言に関心はある？

Si viajas a Yucatán, es muy probable que escuches expresiones que no tienen sentido en el traductor, esto se debe a la mezcla de la cultura Maya, creando modismos únicos que hacen de la península yucateca un lugar tan pintoresco.
Vamos a practicar las siguientes palabras y frases: “nené” significa bebé, pero también se usa solo “Ne” como una manera amigable para hablar a alguien, “pásame ese negociante” se usa cuando queremos que nos traigan un objeto del que no recordamos el nombre, por ejemplo, en lugar de decir pásame el vaso, decimos pásame el negociante, “a platicar al parque” es una expresión que indica que no es momento ni el lugar para conversar, “lo busco, lo busco y no lo busco” es una expresión que implica que no encontraste lo que buscabas, “Xo” es una expresión que quiere decir que hagas silencio, “acechando” se usa para indicar que alguien te está observando a escondidas, “Fo” indica desagrado, como cuándo algo huele mal,  “Maa”  y “Mare” son expresiones de sorpresa o emoción, “chichí” significa abuela y por último tenemos la palabra “quita” que se usa para referirse a que alguien dejó un lugar o como orden de que te muevas de lugar.

En el episodio de hoy hablamos de falsos amigos. No, no de los falsos amigos en tu círculo social, sino gramaticalmente hablando. En especial de los falsos amigos entre el español y el inglés porque es verdad que ambos idiomas tienen palabras parecidas con un significado similar. Pero también es cierto que muchas palabras que parecen iguales tienen un significado totalmente diferente. Y es en esas palabras en las que nos vamos a concentrar hoy para que puedas usarlas correctamente y evitarlas cuando no son necesarias para no pasar por situaciones vergonzosas.

158 – Falsos amigos español-inglés

People have been building boats for at least 10,000 years, making them one of the oldest types of transportation. They're a big part of history, which is why there are many expressions about boats.

If you have the same problems or are in the same situation as someone else, you can say you are "in the same boat." This expression comes from the fact that people on the same boat are all affected if the boat gets into trouble while at sea.

For example, if your friend told you they had lost their job, and you had also lost your job, you could say "Looks like we're in the same boat — I lost my job too!"

If a person is doing something too much or in an extreme way, you can say they are "going overboard" with it. This expression comes from the 1600s when boats were mostly made of wooden boards, and going overboard meant falling into the water.

So if your friend kept calling the same company to ask for a job, you could say, "Don't go overboard! If you keep calling them they won't hire you."

If someone misses out on something, especially because they were late or too slow, you can say they have "missed the boat." This expression refers to being late to board a boat that departed at a specific time.

So your friend might say, "I just want to make sure I'm the first person they call when they're hiring. I don't want to miss the boat!"

'Go Overboard' with These Boating Expressions

みなさん、元気ですか？

今日は、札幌の紅葉について話します。
Podcast#110でも話しましたが、今回は11/8に実際に行って見てきましたので、その話をします。

昨日は札幌の北海道大学のイチョウ並木を見に行きました。
別にポプラ並木もあるみたいです。
これは、1903年に行われた小規模な植林が始まりです。
結構前からあるんですね。もう100年以上前です。
そして、2004年の台風では、半数近くのポプラが倒れたようです。それでも、たくさんの方の支援を受けたそうです。

イチョウ並木の方に話を戻します。
道の両側に真っ黄色のイチョウが立ち並び、
鮮やかに彩っていました。
とてもきれいでした。
写真を撮っている人がいたり、イチョウをながめながら歩く人もいたり。もちろん、大学生が帰っていたり。
大学の中にありますが、一般の人でも入ることができます。

まっすぐな道沿いに大きなイチョウが70本ほどあるので、いつの時期に行っても、楽しめると思います。
