Malayalam Alphabet and Numbers — Recite the Foundations With Me | Learn Malayalam #352
설명
A spoken reference for Malayalam — the vowels, the consonant grid, the chillus and the numbers. Recite it with me whenever you want the foundations back. Come to this one on a bad week and just say everything out loud.
I am Dr. Reshmi R. Nair, an applied linguist from Kerala. I have taught hundreds of learners to speak Malayalam as it is actually spoken.
THE VOWELS
അ (a) ആ (aa) ഇ (i) ഈ (ee) ഉ (u) ഊ (oo) ഋ (ru) എ (e) ഏ (e) ഐ (ai) ഒ (o) ഓ (o) ഔ (au) അം (am) അഃ (ah)
And again in pairs, short then long: അ ആ · ഇ ഈ · ഉ ഊ · എ ഏ · ഒ ഓ
THE CONSONANTS, IN THE FIVE ROWS OF THE VARGA GRID
Each row runs unaspirated → aspirated → voiceless → voiced, and closes with the nasal made in the same place.
