Juan: ¡Uf, sí! Una vez, salí con alguien que trajo a su mamá a la cita.

Sofía: ¡¿Qué?! ¿En serio? ¿Cómo pasó eso?

Juan: Dijo que su mamá quería conocerme antes de que saliéramos solos. Yo pensé que era broma, pero no… ¡se sentó con nosotros todo el tiempo!

Sofía: ¡Eso es demasiado extraño! Pero bueno, ahora tengo que contarte la mía.

Juan: A ver, dime. Seguro no es peor que lo de la mamá en la cita.

Sofía: Bueno… fui a cenar con un chico y todo iba bien hasta que sacó su teléfono y empezó a hablar con su ex… ¡enfrente de mí!

Juan: ¡No puede ser! ¿En serio hizo eso?

Sofía: Sí, le decía cosas como "Te extraño" y "No sé por qué terminamos". Yo estaba ahí, confundida, preguntándome si debía irme.

Juan: ¡Eso es incómodo! ¿Qué hiciste?

Sofía: Me levanté, le dije "buena suerte con tu ex" y me fui.

Juan: ¡Bien hecho! Esa fue la mejor reacción.

Sofía: Definitivamente. Desde entonces, siempre pregunto si alguien sigue en contacto con su ex antes de una cita.

Juan: Lección aprendida. Y yo, por mi parte, evito salir con alguien que traiga a su mamá.

Jimmy oggi è un signore anziano, ma ama raccontare la sua vita da bambino.
Da piccolo aveva i capelli corti, biondi e lisci. Era magro e alto e portava l’apparecchio. Non indossava gli occhiali. Jimmy abitava nella periferia di Londra e ogni mattina andava a scuola in bicicletta con la sua migliore amica. A essere onesti, la scuola non gli piaceva affatto. Nelle cinque ore di lezione dormiva, stava poco attento o chiacchierava con i compagni di classe. Amava studiare solo la matematica. Il pomeriggio, infatti, dopo le lezioni faceva sempre i compiti di matematica. Poi usciva e andava a giocare con gli amici. I suoi genitori si arrabbiavano sempre con lui.
Quando è cresciuto, Jimmy ha iniziato a lavorare in panetteria. Ogni giorno si svegliava alle 3 e iniziava il lavoro molto presto. Però finiva anche presto: a ora di pranzo si liberava e poteva riposare tutto il pomeriggio e trascorrere il tempo come più preferiva.
Abitava in una piccola casa con la sua famiglia: la casa aveva due camere da letto, un salotto, una cucina e un bagno. Dietro la casa c’era un cortile dove Jimmy amava leggere il giornale. Già all’epoca, come oggi, faceva molto sport: ogni fine settimana andava in bicicletta. Tutti i pomeriggi, dopo pranzo, passeggiava al parco e faceva un po’ di ginnastica per tonificare i muscoli.
Jimmy era felice della sua vita e lo è ancora oggi.

こんばんは、atsushiです。
今回も和食の文化について話をします。

日本には四季があります。
春、夏、秋、冬。
季節ごとに気温や気候が違うように、旬の食べ物も変わります。

今回は季節ごとの旬な食べ物の話をします。

まずは春からです。
僕は春といえば、たけのこを思い出します。
かといって、家でたくさん食べていたわけでは無いんですが、たけのこのイメージがあります。

他には貝類だとアサリですね、魚だと鯛とかニシンですらね。山菜だとあんまり食べないんですけど、ふきのとうとかですかね。あとは菜の花とかイチゴとかですね。

次は夏です。
夏といえば、僕はそうめんですね。実家にいた時によくそうめんを食べてました。一般的には、魚だとあじとかアナゴとかですね。カツオなどもます。野菜は枝豆、きゅうり、茄子とかですかね。果物だとやっぱりスイカですかね。日本の夏の果物はスイカってイメージは結構ありますね。

秋ですね。秋は食材が豊富になる時期なので、日本では良く、食欲の秋とか言いますね。
僕は秋といえば、梨とかさんまですね。鮭もそうですね。
一般的には、蓮根とか椎茸、しめじ、果物が多いですねぇ。栗とか柿とかぶどうですね。サツマイモとかもそうです。

最後に冬です。
冬は食材と言うよりも、なべのイメージがありますけど、かぼちゃとかですかね。
一般的には貝類の牡蠣とか魚だとタラとかふぐとかカニですね。野菜がと、大根とか白菜とかネギとかですかね。

今回は食材の話ばっかりしたんですけど、
もちろん旬の料理もありますので、その話はまた今度にしようと思います。

Toddlers in the UK get almost half of their calories from ultra-processed foods (UPFs), according to a new study.

Researchers also found that 7-year-olds get 59% of their calories from UPFs.

UPFs include things like ice cream and cookies, but also ham, sausages, flavored yogurts, breakfast cereals and some breads.

Eating too much of these types of food has been linked to an increased risk of a number of different health conditions, including obesity, diabetes and heart problems.

The study looked at food diaries completed by the parents of more than 2,500 children aged 21 months, and 600 children aged 7.

The most common UPFs that toddlers ate were flavored yogurts and whole-grain breakfast cereals.

Although these are seen as quite healthy choices, they are still ultra-processed. They're usually industrially produced and contain ingredients that most people wouldn't have in their kitchens, like emulsifiers.

The researchers said children who eat more UPFs as toddlers are more likely to eat a lot of them as they get older, so choosing the right foods for young children is important.

Previous research has found that teenagers in the UK may get more than 60% of their calories from UPFs.

However, the study's lead author, Rana Conway, said it's not only parents that are to blame.

She said these foods "are often cheaper than the foods parents would like to give their children, such as fresh fruit and vegetables.

"Also, despite labels suggesting they're a healthy choice, ultra-processed foods marketed for children often contain too much sugar and salt. This makes it harder for parents to make healthy choices."

Studies done in the US have found similar problems with the diets of children there.

Io sono Enza, insegno italiano per stranieri e oggi vi porto in un piccolo viaggio a Trieste… tra porto, mare e, soprattutto, caffè.

Sapete, Trieste non è solo il porto e le colline. Trieste è la città del caffè. Qui non si ordina “un caffè” e basta: no, no… qui ogni caffè ha il suo nome, la sua storia e… la sua personalità!
Entriamo in un bar storico, per esempio il Caffè San Marco. Il barista ci sorride: “Buongiorno, cosa prende?”
Se vuoi un nero, è semplice: un espresso nella classica tazzina.
Ma se vuoi fare il vero triestino, puoi chiedere un nero in B: sì, in bicchiere! Perché qui il bicchiere fa subito città portuale.
Hai voglia di latte? Allora arriva il capo o, se vuoi fare il raffinato, il capo in B. È un caffè macchiato servito in bicchiere, così puoi ammirare il gioco tra il caffè scuro e la schiuma bianca… quasi un piccolo dipinto!
E se proprio vuoi sentirti un esperto locale, prova il deca in B: il caffè decaffeinato, sempre in bicchiere, perché anche senza caffeina, qui il bicchiere è d’obbligo.

A Trieste il caffè è anche socialità: non è raro vedere due persone che discutono animatamente sul “nero” perfetto o sul bicchiere giusto. E attenzione alle parole: se chiedi un “caffelatte” a un triestino, sorriderà… perché qui si dice ancora “caffelatte”, non cappuccino! Piccoli dettagli che raccontano una città.

A Trieste, il caffè non è solo una bevanda: è un piccolo viaggio nella cultura, nella lingua e nelle abitudini locali. La prossima volta che entrerete in un bar triestino, ricordatevi: potete ordinare un nero, un capo o un capo in B… ma soprattutto, godetevi il momento.
