Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? The most important goal of education is to teach people how to educate themselves. What is the ultimate goal of education? People hold different opinions on that (saying people hold different opinions doesn’t really add anything). I think the most important goal is to enable students to teach themselves. That’s crucial because teachers normally can’t teach everything we need; also, knowing approaches to learning is more important than knowledge itself. To begin with, although generally teachers are intelligent and knowledgeable, they cannot teach everything. No one is omniscient. For problems that are beyond the teachers’ scope of knowledge, students often need to do independent research to work out things by themselves.(to be continued)
