What does incessant overuse of apostrophe look like, Su.Ki?
Can you give me examples? I don't understand. How is it hypercorrection?
"I deplore the incessant overuse of the apostrophe. Many of the texts that I see appear overrun by a plague of ants."

Just do a Google search for "apostrophe misuse" and have a laugh! Basically, there are many cases where people add the apostrophe when it is not needed - especially in public signs/ advertising etc. Of course, people often don't use one when they should, too.
