Could you please help me correct the following sentences? *** A few days ago, I was surprised at a photo that my colleague from Czech posted on Facebook. In the photo, he was taking a funny pose in the polling station in the embassy, and just about to vote his ballot into the ballot box. In Japanese polling station, we aren’t supposed to take a picture inside and I haven’t even thought of trying it. I wondered how he took the picture and asked him, and his answer made me even more surprised. He said, “Oh, since the polling station was not busy, so I asked the voting witness to take this photo :)” *** By the way, in your country, is it allowed to take a picture inside of a polling station? Have you ever tried, or would you like to?

I don't think so, but I believe people still do in places where things aren't so strict. Is it not allowed everywhere in Japan?

Hi ちひろさん, First, I had to check (because I'd never thought of it either), but taking pictures inside polling stations in Canada is not allowed! And now to correct your paragraph: A few days ago, I was surprised at a photo that my colleague from The Czech Republic [or sometimes Czechia] posted on Facebook. In the photo, he was striking a funny pose ["striking a pose" is the word we use for posing] inside the polling station at the embassy and was just about to put his ballot into the ballot box ["voting" is the whole process from marking the ballot to putting it into the box]. In Japanese polling stations, we aren’t supposed to take pictures inside, and I haven’t even thought of trying it. I wondered how he took the picture and asked him. His answer surprised me even more. He said, “Oh, since the polling station was not busy, I asked the voting witness to take this photo :)”
